Kankakee County Arrest Records

Kankakee County arrest records consist of booking and arrest information generated by law enforcement agencies after detaining an individual for an alleged offense. Unlike broader criminal records, which may encompass events across multiple criminal justice agencies, an arrest record focuses on a single incident.

Following 5 Ill Comp. Stat. 140/2.15, an arresting agency is expected to make basic arrest information publicly available within 72 hours. Basic information, as defined by this provision, includes

  • Name, age, address, and booking photograph
  • Charges or alleged offenses
  • Arrest time and location
  • Arresting agency
  • Booking (detention) details

Notwithstanding this, certain agencies may refuse to disclose booking or custody information if doing so may compromise an investigation, an officer's safety, or the security of a jail. Details of juvenile arrestees and personal/private information are also withheld.
